How does the process work?
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Aerofloat™ is an adaptation of the technology known as Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF). The basic principle is that air is dissolved into a pressurised feed stream, which is then allowed to suddenly decompress. This causes millions of little bubbles to form as the dissolved air comes out of compression (the same as when you open a soft drink), known as flocculation. The bubbles tend to form around contaminates in the water and then floats them to the surface where they are captured and removed.
AEROFLOAT PROCESS DESCRIPTION
Treated water in the DAF tank is recirculated through a chamber, where air is dissolved under pressure. It is then decompressed and mixed with the flocculated greywater entering the DAF tank. Greywater contaminates are floated to the top of the DAF tank and these contaminates are periodically transferred to the black water storage tank.
The treated water flows from the bottom of the DAF tank, through a disinfection chamber and then is ready to be discharged.
