Residential Greywater Treatment & Reuse

Following the success of the Aerofloat products for houseboat greywater treatment, Aerofloat has extended its product offering for use in the residential greywater market.

Water management (including waste water treatment and water reuse) is emerging as a priority issue not only nationally but around the globe. In Australia, droughts lead to severe water restrictions and future droughts will pose a real problem for residential and commercial properties with large landscaped and lawn areas. With significant volumes of greywater generated daily from properties, the Aerofloat product can be used (either a standalone system or in conjunction with other processes) to treat wastewater to a quality suitable for irrigation purposes. This treated water can also be re-used for toilet flushing or vehicle washing, potentially saving thousands of litres of potable water each year. Aerofloat has achieved product certification to AS 4995-2009 for boats operated on inland waters. Aerofloat proposes to obtain Certification (from NSW Health) in late 2012 for use in single domestic premises in NSW.

Aerofloat has extended its market internationally for the treatment of greywater generated from multi-dwelling residences. The greywater generated from showers, laundry and in some cases kitchen wastes can be recycled for toilet flushing and irrigation of common areas.

For new apartment blocks in Australia, this is an ideal solution for green star points. Due to strong demand in this area, Aerofloat has decided to develop a larger model which will have an even higher treatment capacity in the order of 3500 litres per hour (Aerofloat 3500).  Aerofloat has recently been awarded a Commercialisation Australia grant to assist in the development of the Aerofloat 3500 model.
