The Aerofloat 100 is the most popular in the Aerofloat product range for the industrial wastewater treatment market.  It provides an effective, affordable treatment solution compared with conventional DAFs – particularly for those where space is limited.  Increasingly, regulatory bodies are enforcing the use of DAFs, over traditional grease traps, due to their effectiveness in removing fats, oils and greases.  The Aerofloat 100 is also suitable for larger residential greywater treatment whereby the effluent can be further treated with sand filtration or UF and used for irrigation.

All Aerofloat products are ideal to be used as pre-treatment steps for more sophisticated filtration systems including reverse osmosis.  By installing an Aerofloat unit as a pre-treatment stage, this would greatly reduce the load on the subsequent technology.

Power and utility requirements

Aerofloat 100 system:

  • 10 Amps, three phase. The main power draw is the 2.2 kW feed pump and the 1.5 kW recirculation pump. Based on a 10 hour per day operation the energy consumption would be ~35 kWhr/day.
  • Water supply for maintenance purposes.
  • Compressed air supply required

With no moving parts, he anticipates that Aerofloat’s solution will prove far easier to operate than these. “With these new units, we’re hoping we can do a daily check to make sure it’s working alright, and then let it run itself,” he says. “If this works out as we hope, then Aerofloat may well become the solution for our other plants when existing DAFs reach their end of life.”

    George Weston Foods Auckland bakery needed to reduce the levels of fat, oil and grease in their discharge in order to comply with trade waste laws. With Aerofloat’s support, the treatment facility was able to reduce the levels of suspended solids by 97%, and oil and grease levels by 99%, thereby easily achieving compliance with council regulations.
    In both examples, the compact nature of the Aerofloat system allowed for the installation of additional treatment products on sites that have space constraints.
