Aerofloat was tasked to design a mobile, turnkey PFAS treatment system that could efficiently handle variable leachate flows on site while ensuring consistent contaminant removal and easy operation.
Aerofloat delivered a compact, containerised PFAS treatment solution for its client, designing and building two fully automated, mobile plants that ensured on-site flexibility.

Aerofloat was engaged to deliver a compact, mobile PFAS treatment system to manage variable leachate flows at multiple remote sites. The client required a fully self-contained, automated solution that could be quickly deployed and reliably meet strict discharge standards.
In response, Aerofloat designed and built two containerised PFAS treatment plants, each capable of treating up to 15 m³/hr. The systems featured bag filtration and granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment, along with automated controls, self-priming feed pumps, and remote monitoring capabilities to ensure consistent performance under varying site conditions.
The turnkey solution enabled rapid setup and minimal operator intervention, with each unit delivering compliant discharge results across multiple deployments. Aerofloat’s engineering expertise ensured a cost-effective, low-maintenance design that met the project’s performance, budget, and timeline requirements.
Aerofloat’s experience in leachate management meant it was well-placed to design and construct an innovative treatment plant that included two containerised mobile PFAS removal facilities. The project was Aerofloat’s second collaboration with this high-profile client.
The client needed a fully mobile, self-contained PFAS treatment system that could consistently extract and treat leachate despite variable flow and pressure conditions at various sites. Aerofloat’s engineers custom-designed and manufactured compact and efficient turnkey plants on time and on budget.
Aerofloat’s design included two containerised, mobile PFAS removal facilities, incorporating a combination of client-supplied materials and new equipment. Each mobile PFAS treatment plant has a capacity of up to 15 m³/hr and features a self-priming pump to draw leachate directly from site sumps. Aerofloat proposed a fully automated, custom-designed turnkey system that integrates bag filtration and granular activated carbon treatment.
The scope included all mechanical, electrical, and control components such as feed and backwash pumps, instrumentation, PLC systems, bag filters, pipework, and installation of client-supplied filtration vessels and containers.
Aerofloat’s mobile PFAS system enables quick deployment and efficient operation. Positioned near the sump, it uses a self-priming feed pump to draw leachate, which passes through flow and pressure monitors and bag filters to remove solids and protect downstream equipment.
The leachate then flows through three GAC-filled filtration vessels for PFAS removal. Backwash valves, pressure gauges, and a backwash pump allow easy maintenance.
Treated water discharges via flanges for client connection. A PLC controls the system with VSD pumps and alarms based on real-time data for reliable operation.
Aerofloat’s system successfully delivered compliant treatment of wastewater and leachate, consistently reducing PFAS concentrations to meet regulatory standards. Its mobile, turnkey design enabled rapid deployment and seamless integration on site, minimising downtime. Automated controls and real-time monitoring ensured efficient operation and easy maintenance, providing Aerofloat’s client with a reliable, flexible solution for managing challenging leachate conditions.
