Founded in 1990, Priestley’s Gourmet Delights is a leading Australian food manufacturer known for high-quality desserts and pastries. The company processes up to 120 tonnes of product per week, creating complex wastewater streams containing fats, oils, sugars, and dyes. Due to company growth, PGD built a new food production facility with a brand new wastewater treatment system from Aerofloat.
Aerofloat worked closely with Priestley’s Gourmet Delights to understand their operations, forecast growth, and navigate tight spatial constraints. The custom system featured the AeroCirc DAF unit, automated pH correction, and adequate storage and transfer capacity to avoid disrupting production. The solution included underground pipework for a clean finish and used smart engineering to link the food processing wastewater treatment system to a remote sewer connection.
Installation was just the beginning. Aerofloat’s After Care program included operator training, regular site visits, emergency callouts, chemical supply, and remote monitoring. The program ensures ongoing compliance and provides responsive support, something Priestley’s Maintenance Manager Edi Amstad commended:
“The After Care program that I signed up with has been second to none. When there is a hiccup, Aerofloat’s the first one to make sure that we’re being looked after.”
The system comfortably treats 45m³ per day with capacity up to 70m³, supporting Priestley’s expected growth trajectory. It meets all required effluent quality parameters for suspended solids (SS), fats, oils and grease (FOG), and pH. According to Amstad, the project exceeded expectations:

Aerofloat’s support continues well beyond commissioning, with site optimisation, chemical delivery within five days – even for long-lead items – and a proactive approach that empowers Priestley’s own team. Amstad summed it up:
