We’re here in Munich at IFAT I’m here with Sophie the vice president ifm and I just wanted to point out we use ifm for things like level and pressure and temperature, and this product is called the ilink and what it does is basically you can connect all your instruments around your plant to here and then you essentially just run one cable back using Mob bus, property bus, ethernet, whatever is required. But the benefit of this for us is that we can just run one cable to a Zone within our plant and then link up the instruments we save on input cards in your PLC installation time.
Sophie: “Let me also add to that if you can see here the lighting yes it’s sometimes really difficult to find out is it the connection which is a problem or is it actually the sensor and here you can immediately see it because there both would blink yellow you know something is wrong with the connection, if it’s a problem with sensor you can just change the sensor and the configuration is saved on the master. It’s a huge advantage otherwise, you need to configure everything again, you need to find out which sensor you need.”
And what I really love is within each instrument, you can pick up extra parameters.
Sophie: “Huge advantage as well, right?”
The instruments themselves actually have multiple parameters within each of them, so you can pick up little bonus points from each sensor, like if you got a pressure element, you can also get temperature off it really really cool business.
