Edmonson Park Case Study
Managed by Frasers Property Australia, the large food court at Edmondson Park town centre’s busy shopping precinct boasted a wide range of eatery options including fast food shops, cafes and ice creameries.
Dissolved air flotation (DAF) is a technique that removes fats, oils and grease (FOG) and suspended solids (SS) from wastewater. The AeroCIRC DAF utilises Aerofloat’s proprietary Air Dissolving System to create an innovative circular DAF unit. The AeroCIRC DAF incorporates Aerofloat’s patented feature of an effluent actuator on the effluent line, for the hydraulic float removal.
The small quantity of fallen solids between cycles in Aerofloat’s circular DAF unit are re-floated through the recirculation stream to the dissolver/saturator prior to the introduction of wastewater. This means solids do not accumulate at the bottom of the system.
The AeroCIRC DAF includes a 60-degree hopper that enables self-cleaning with a hinged scraper. The combination of the scraper and the hydraulic lift at the end of the cycle ensures all solids are removed from the system. Chain scrapers are not required, and the self-cleaning feature ensures a very attractive product offering.
Aerofloat’s circular DAF unit is part of its dissolved air flotation product range. Aerofloat offers its patented proprietary technology as well as conventional treatment options from leading-edge suppliers to ensure the optimal design for your business.
Aerofloat works closely with its clients to create innovative wastewater treatment solutions that enable sustainable operations both now and into the future. Aerofloat’s clients also have access to Aerofloat’s team of engineers for ongoing advice and support long after project completion, ensuring ongoing efficient operations of your system.

The rotating scraper makes for a very appealing product offering as there are no chains to maintain or replace on the DAF unit.
In 2018, Aerofloat was contracted to design and manufacture a circular DAF unit (dissolved air flotation) with a more conventional DAF scraper.
The result was a new product offering, showcasing a 60-degree hopper for self-cleaning with a hinged scraper. The AeroCIRC incorporates the AeroDAF patented features such as an effluent actuator for hydraulic float removal and Aerofloat’s air dissolving system.
Aerofloat designs and manufactures the AeroCIRC DAF at its Sydney headquarters: this means each unit can be custom designed and built to suit the client’s needs.
The AeroCIRC DAF core design can treat flows from 10-250m3/hr.

After successfully installing a sophisticated wastewater treatment plant for its challenging inky wastewater in New Zealand, Visy asked Aerofloat to manage its new Australian facility.
The shopping precinct at Westfields, Westlakes in South Australia (SA), required an innovative wastewater design to meet increased flow rates. The wastewater from the stores in the food court had grown.
