From Pumps to Panels Every Piece Matters

In industrial wastewater treatment, system performance is never determined by a single component. It is the result of many carefully selected parts working together to support reliable and compliant treatment outcomes.

Across modern wastewater treatment systems, including dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems, effluent treatment plants, and broader trade waste systems, every pump, probe, tank and control panel contributes to stable operation.

As one of Australia’s experienced water treatment plant companies, Aerofloat designs systems where every component is chosen for reliability, compatibility and long term performance. From pumps and instrumentation to storage tanks and control systems, these components form the foundation of many industrial wastewater treatment solutions used across food production, manufacturing and processing facilities.

This video highlights the components and suppliers used in a trade waste treatment plant installed at Priestley’s Gourmet Delights in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. It demonstrates how each element supports a complete and dependable industrial wastewater management system.

Pumps and dosing equipment supporting wastewater treatment processes

Pumps and chemical dosing systems play a critical role in maintaining consistent treatment performance across industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Processes such as dissolved air flotation, coagulation and flocculation rely on accurate chemical dosing and stable water flow. These processes are commonly used in industrial effluent treatment, including applications such as dairy effluent treatment, abattoir wastewater treatment, and food manufacturing wastewater management.

At the Priestley’s Gourmet Delights installation, helical rotor flocculant dosing pumps supplied by Roto manage chemical dosing within the treatment process. These pumps deliver precise flow control, which supports effective floc formation within the DAF water treatment system.

Additional chemical dosing pumps from EMEC, supplied through Convergent Water Controls, are used throughout the plant. These pumps are widely used in trade waste systems and effluent treatment plants due to their accuracy and reliability.

Water transfer and saturator pumps supplied by Ebara support circulation and pressurisation within the DAF flotation system. In many DAF system wastewater treatment installations, saturator pumps play a key role in generating the microbubbles required for separating solids, oils and contaminants from wastewater.

Together, these pumping systems ensure treatment chemicals and wastewater move through the plant efficiently and consistently.

Control systems and instrumentation for stable treatment performance

Reliable monitoring and automation are essential in modern waste treatment plants.

Instrumentation supplied by IFM provides monitoring across key operational parameters within the system. These instruments help operators track treatment performance and identify changes in wastewater conditions.

The plant control architecture includes Allen Bradley PLC systems supported by Schneider switchgear. These components form the backbone of the control system and are commonly used in water treatment plant manufacturers’ designs to automate treatment processes and maintain consistent system performance.

pH monitoring and control are handled through probes and controllers supplied by Royce. Maintaining accurate pH adjustment in water treatment is essential in many industrial wastewater treatment solutions, particularly where chemical dosing supports processes such as flocculation, ammonia removal from wastewater, or denitrification.

Control systems like these allow operators to maintain stable treatment conditions across a wide range of wastewater applications.

Storage tanks and infrastructure supporting effluent management

Storage and containment infrastructure provide the physical foundation of many effluent management systems.

At the Acacia Ridge installation, tanks supplied by Bushmans support several stages of the treatment process, including the balance tank, effluent tank and sludge tank.

The balance tank regulates incoming wastewater flow so the treatment system receives a steady feed rather than sudden surges. This stability is particularly important for DAF water treatment systems and other biological or chemical treatment processes.

The effluent tank stores treated water before discharge or reuse, depending on site requirements. In some facilities, this water may also support industrial water recycling or integration with a recycling water plant.

The sludge tank stores solids removed during treatment, preparing them for handling through processes such as sludge dewatering or other dewatering solutions.

Chemical storage and containment are supported through IBC storage bunds supplied by Global Spill Control, providing safe secondary containment for treatment chemicals.

Mixing and sludge handling within wastewater treatment plants

Effective sludge management is an important part of many wastewater purification systems.

At this site, a mixer supplied by FluidPro helps maintain consistent sludge composition within the storage tank. Mixing systems prevent solids from settling and help prepare sludge for downstream processes such as dewatering or transfer to a sludge dewatering unit.

Sludge transfer is performed using a mechanical diaphragm pump supplied by All Pumps. These pumps are commonly used in industrial wastewater treatment plants where thicker sludge streams must be handled reliably.

Supporting equipment such as flocculant emulsion makeup skids prepares treatment chemicals before they enter the dosing process. Proper chemical preparation helps optimise treatment performance across systems such as DAF flotation, sewage treatment plants, and other wastewater treatment systems.

Designing treatment plants with safety and accessibility in mind

Safety and operational access are also critical considerations when designing modern water treatment plants.

At the Priestley’s Gourmet Delights installation, mobile access platforms supplied by Bailey’s allow operators to safely reach equipment across multiple parts of the system. These platforms include safety rails and can be moved between key locations including the balance tank, effluent tank, dissolved air flotation system and sludge tank.

Designing treatment plants with flexible access ensures operators can safely perform inspections, maintenance and adjustments across the entire system.

This type of practical design consideration helps maintain safe operations across many types of facilities, including sewage processing plants, leachate treatment plants, and other industrial water treatment installations.

Bringing together the right suppliers and technologies

Every successful industrial wastewater treatment solution relies on the integration of many specialised technologies and suppliers.

From pumps and instrumentation to tanks and safety equipment, each supplier contributes critical components that help deliver reliable system performance.

As experienced water treatment plant suppliers, Aerofloat carefully selects equipment that supports the performance of the overall system while ensuring long term serviceability.

By combining proven technologies, experienced suppliers and thoughtful engineering design, these individual components come together to form a complete wastewater treatment system capable of supporting industrial operations across sectors such as food production, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.

In complex facilities where processes such as industrial wastewater management, trade waste treatment, and industrial water recycling are essential, every component truly matters.
